Biography

Early life

Loken was born in Ghent, New York, the daughter of Rande (née Porath), a model, and Merlin “Chris” Loken, a writer and apple farmer. Both her paternal and maternal grandparents were born in Norway and immigrated to Wisconsin’s Norwegian American community. She grew up on her parents’ fruit farm in Upstate New York. She has a sister named Tanya.

Career

Loken started her acting career in 1994, playing “Danielle ‘Dani’ Andropoulos #3″ on an episode of As The World Turns, and she appeared in several television shows and films, including regular appearances on the television shows Philly, Unhappily Ever After, Mortal Kombat: Conquest, and Boy Meets World. And if the person with whom I connect happens to be a female, that’s just the way it is. That’s what makes my wheels turn”.

Loken first generated public speculation about her sexuality when she kissed P!nk at the World Music Awards in Monte Carlo.[10] The Advocate and other LGBT news sources in November 2006 reported Loken might be in a romantic relationship with actress Michelle Rodriguez,[11][12] her co-star in Bloodrayne. Asked about the relationship in April 2007, Kristanna Loken said “We’re great friends. She’ll always remain a great, close friend of mine. I’ll always love Michelle”.

On January 17, 2008, she announced on her web site that she was engaged to actor Noah Danby (her co-star in Painkiller Jane). The two were married at her family’s farm on May 10, 2008.

Kirsty Hume (born September 4, 1976) is a Scottish model who came to prominence in the fashion world in the 1990s. A columnist likened her appearance to a Botticelli angel.

She is married to rocker and actor Donovan Leitch, Jr.. After getting married in Scotland in 1997, they drove all around Bali in a jeep. The couple have a daughter named Violet.

In 1996 Hume was the feature model for Chanel ads. She has modelled for Victoria’s Secret. For the March 1996 Gucci presentation of fall and winter fashion collections in Milan, Italy, Hume wore a fabulous dress made of white jersey (clothing) with a plunging neckline.

Following a 1997 Paris, France showing of Karl Lagerfeld designs for Chanel, Hume was queried by a Russian TV reporter. He asked her what was the most exciting part of her job. She answered, Um, the money. She appeared in a bias-cut chiffon gown designed by Donatella Versace at the January 1998 Milan fashion show.

Hume patronized the 26th Street flea market in Manhattan when shopping for Momo Falana, a line of hand-dyed dresses made from vintage lingerie. Parker Posey and Donna Karan were also customers of the business, which sells to patrons by appointment only.

Hume attended a Halloween party at Lot 61 in Chelsea, Manhattan, with Leitch and Oliver Stone, in 1998. The Japanese-themed event included an appearance by Leonardo DiCaprio and friends dressed as members of Kiss. Hume arrived in fangs. The night before Halloween in 1999 Leitch and Hume hosted a party at the same venue. Hume was draped in vines and the couple were scantilly dressed as Adam and Eve.

Hume and Leitch eschewed city life and relocated to Woodstock, New York. Hume began to study painting and paganism after their move. She is fond of wearing flip flops and Birkenstocks.

That same year, Dunst starred in her breakthrough role in Interview with the Vampire, in which she portrayed vampire Claudia, a surrogate daughter to Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt’s characters in the film. Her performance earned her a Golden Globe nomination for Best Performance.

Dunst became well known when she was cast as Mary Jane Watson in the Spider-Man films. Since then, she has starred in Sofia Coppola’s 2006 film, Marie Antoinette, in which she plays the title character. Dunst appeared in How to Lose Friends & Alienate People, and will next star in All Good Things, and Sweet Relief.

Dunst made her singing debut in the 2001 film Get Over It, in which she performed two songs. In The Cat’s Meow, she sung Henry Creamer and Turner Layton’s song “After You’ve Gone” to the end credits of the film. In 2008, Dunst admitted that she was battling with depression and checked herself into rehab. She discharged herself in March 2008, to resume filming in All Good Things. In her personal life, Dunst has dated playwright Jeff Smeenge, actor Jake Gyllenhaal and Razorlight frontman Johnny Borrell.

Biography

Early life

Kirsten Dunst was born in Point Pleasant, New Jersey, the daughter of Inez and Klaus Dunst, who are divorced. She has a younger brother, Christian. Her father, a German medical services executive from Hamburg, initially remained in New Jersey but now lives in Los Angeles, California. Her mother, a Swedish former art gallery owner, also moved to California. Dunst attended Notre Dame High School in Sherman Oaks, California and then attended the Ranney School in New Jersey, before leaving to pursue acting. She is a Lutheran.

Career

Dunst began her career as a child fashion model at the age of three in television commercials. She was signed with Ford Models and Elite Model Management. In 1989, Dunst made her film debut in Woody Allen’s Oedipus Wrecks, a short film that was released as one-third of the anthology film New York Stories. Soon after, she landed a small part in The Bonfire of the Vanities as Tom Hanks’ daughter. In 1993, Dunst played Hedril in “Dark Page“, the seventh season episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation. At the age of fifteen, Dunst was the voice of Kiki in the 1997 anime series Kiki’s Delivery Service. She also had a recurring role as a child prostitute, Charlie Chiemingo, on ER.

Dunst portrayed young Amy March in the 1994 film adaptation of Little Women. The film received widespread praise; critic Janet Maslin of The New York Times wrote that the film was the greatest adaptation of the novel, and also remarked on Dunst’s performance: “The perfect contrast to take-charge Jo comes from Kirsten Dunst’s scene-stealing Amy, whose vanity and twinkling mischief make so much more sense coming from an 11-year-old vixen than they did from grown-up Joan Bennett in 1933. Ms. Dunst, also scarily effective as the baby bloodsucker of “Interview With the Vampire,” is a little vamp with a big future.” She made her feature film breakthrough in Interview with the Vampire, a 1994 film based on Anne Rice’s novel, in which she played the child vampire Claudia. In the Chicago Sun-Times review of the film, critic Roger Ebert wrote: “One of the creepier aspects of the story is the creation of the child vampire, Claudia, played by Kirsten Dunst, who is about 12 years old. The character was six in the novel, but even twice as old she is disturbing, trapped in her child’s body as she ages, decade after decade. Dunst, perhaps with the help of Stan Winston’s subtle makeup, is somehow able to convey the notion of great age inside apparent youth.” Todd McCarthy in Variety remarks that: “Dunst is just right in the difficult part of the child vampire.” The film featured a scene in which Dunst, then aged eleven, received her first kiss from Brad Pitt, who was twenty-nine. Her performance earned her a Golden Globe Award nomination, the MTV Award for Best Breakthrough Performance and the Saturn Award for Best Young Actress. She also starred alongside Robin Williams in Jumanji in 1995. That same year, she was named one of People magazine’s 50 Most Beautiful People, which she repeated in 2002.

In 1997, she was the voice of Young Anastasia in Anastasia. Dunst was also offered the role of Angela in the 1999 Academy Award-winning film American Beauty, but turned it down because she did not want to appear in the film’s suggestive sexual scenes or kiss co-star Kevin Spacey. The same year, she had the role of troubled adolescent Lux Lisbon in Sofia Coppola’s independent film The Virgin Suicides.

In 2000, she played the captain of a cheerleading squad in Bring It On. She is perhaps best known for her portrayal of Mary Jane Watson in the Spider-Man film series based on Stan Lee and Steve Ditko’s comic book, alongside Tobey Maguire. She portrayed the neighbor and romantic interest of the mild-mannered superhero in the first film. She was generally well-received in the role, and had a now-famous and often-parodied scene in which she kisses the hero while he hangs upside-down from his web. The success of the first film led her to reprise the role in two sequels, Spider-Man 2 in 2004 and Spider-Man 3 in 2007. Dunst initially signed on to appear in three Spider-Man films, and has said that she would not appear in a fourth film unless director Sam Raimi returned to direct.

At the 2002 Mar de Plata Film Festival, Dunst won the Best Actress Silver Ombú for her performance as silent film actress Marion Davies in Peter Bogdanovich’s The Cat’s Meow. In 2004, Dunst starred in the critically acclaimed Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.[28][29] She was ranked at #59 on VH1’s 100 Greatest Kid Stars.

At the 2006 Cannes Film Festival, Marie Antoinette premiered. It was released in North America on October 20, 2006. In the film, her second with director Sofia Coppola, Dunst plays the title character and uses an American accent in the role. Dunst was next seen in the film How to Lose Friends and Alienate People, co-starring Simon Pegg and released in October 2008. She will portray peace activist Marla Ruzicka in Sweet Relief scripted by Lorene Scafaria for Warner Independent Pictures in 2009. She is rumored to play the role of Blondie frontwoman Debbie Harry in director Michel Gondry’s upcoming biopic about the band. Dunst also expressed interest in playing Jean Seberg in an upcoming biopic.

Music

Dunst made her singing debut in the 2001 film Get Over It, performing two songs written by Marc Shaiman. She also lent her voice to the end credits of The Cat’s Meow, singing Henry Creamer and Turner Layton’s jazz standard “After You’ve Gone”. In Spider-Man 3, she sings two songs as part of her role as Mary Jane Watson, one during a Broadway performance, and one as a singing waitress in a jazz club. She also appeared in the music video for Savage Garden’s “I Knew I Loved You”. Dunst also sang two tracks, “This Old Machine” and “Summer Day”, on Jason Schwartzman’s solo album, Coconut Records.

Personal life

In an article for Premiere, Sam Raimi confirmed the long-standing rumor that Dunst and her Spider-ManTobey Maguire had “a thing” going on during the 2001 shooting of the first film. As Raimi explained for the article, “I’m so dumb, because I met with them for dinner one night during the shooting to talk about the next day’s scenes. And I go, ‘Okay, well, that’s it for the meeting.’ And then I ask Kirsten, ‘Can I drive you home?’ And they look at each other and she goes, ‘No, no, I’m going to play a game of Touch 10 with Tobey.’ I don’t know, it was some game. I thought, ‘That’s weird. She’s got to work tomorrow.’” co-star

After briefly dating her longtime friend, playwright Jeff Smeenge, she started dating actor Jake Gyllenhaal in September 2002, after meeting him through his sister, Maggie her Mona Lisa Smile co-star. However, they broke up in July 2004. In March 2007, she dated frontman Johnny Borrell of Razorlight. However, they broke up in the fall of 2007.

Dunst was featured on Richard Blackwell’s famous Best Dressed List for 2005.

Dunst confirmed that she was treated for depression early in 2008. She sought treatment at the Cirque Lodge treatment center in Utah. She explained that she had been feeling “low” in the six months prior to her going to rehab. In late March, she checked out from the treatment center and began filming All Good Things. In May, she went public with this information to “highlight the struggle faced by so many other successful women” and to dispel false rumors that had “been very painful for my friends and family”.

Cattrall, one of four children, was born in Wavertree, Liverpool Lancashire, England. Her mother, Shane, was a secretary, and her father, Dennis, a construction engineer. When she was less than a year old, her family emigrated to Courtenay, British Columbia, Canada. At 11 she returned to England when her grandmother became ill, and she studied at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA), before returning to Canada at 16 where she finished her final year of secondary school.

Career

Cattrall began her career after graduating from high school in 1972 when she left Canada for New York City. There, she attended the American Academy of Dramatic Arts and upon her graduation signed a five-year movie deal with director Otto Preminger, making her film debut in Preminger’s Rosebud in 1975. A year later, Universal Studios bought out that contract and Cattrall became one of the last participants of the Universal Contract Player System. During her time with Universal, she guest starred in numerous television programmes of varying style and genre. In 1979 she played Dr. Gabrielle White in The Incredible Hulk and would go down in TV Hulk lore as one of the few characters who knew David Banner was alive and was the creature. Her work in television paid off, and she quickly made the transition to cinema. She starred opposite Jack Lemmon in his Oscar-nominated movie Tribute in 1980. The following year, she starred in the critically acclaimed Ticket to Heaven.

In 1982, Cattrall played Miss Honeywell in Porky’s, followed two years later by a role in the original Police Academy. In 1985, she starred in three movies: Turk 182, City Limits and Hold-Up, the latter with French star Jean-Paul Belmondo. In 1986, she played Kurt Russell’s brainy flame in the action film Big Trouble in Little China. In 1987, her lead role in Mannequin proved a huge success with audiences. One of her most well-known film roles is that of Lieutenant Valeris in Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country.

Aside from her film work, Cattrall is also a stage and theater actress, with performances in Arthur Miller’s A View from the Bridge and Anton Chekhov’s Three Sisters to her credit. In 1997, she was cast in Sex and the City, Darren Star’s series that was broadcast on HBO. As Samantha Jones, Cattrall gained international recognition. She capitalized on her success by appearing in steamy television commercials promoting Pepsi One. She also signed a publishing deal to write a book about sex with her third husband, Mark Levinson. In addition, she can be heard reading the poetry of Rupert Brooke on the CD Red Rose Music SACD Sampler Volume One.

Her film work continued during Sex and the City when she appeared in Britney Spears’ first film venture, Crossroads. Sex and the City ended as a weekly series in spring 2004 with an audience of 10.6m viewers. Cattrall reprised the role of Samantha Jones in the Sex and the City film, released on May 30, 2008.

In 2005, she appeared in the Disney picture Ice Princess, in which she played the ice skating coach of the film’s lead character. She also portrayed Claire, a paralyzed woman who wants to die, in the West End drama revival of Whose Life Is It Anyway? In October 2006 she appeared in a West End production of David Mamet’s The Cryptogram at the Donmar Warehouse in London. Since late 2005, she has appeared in a number of British television commercials for Tetley Tea. In July 2006, a commercial for Nissan cars, which featured Cattrall as Samantha Jones, was withdrawn from New Zealand television, apparently because of complaints about its innuendo. In 2006 she starred alongside Brendan Gleeson in John Boorman’s 2006 film The Tiger’s Tail, a black comedy that focuses on the impact of the Celtic Tiger economy on Irish people. On 11 November on ITV, she starred alongside David Haig, Daniel Radcliffe, and Carey Mulligan in My Boy Jack, the story of author Rudyard Kipling’s search for his son lost in World War I.

On 2 June 2008 Cattrall was reported to be set to star in and executive produce Sensitive Skin for HBO, an adaptation of the eponymous British series revolving around a middle-aged wife and mother who rediscovers her sexuality.

Personal life

Cattrall has been married three times. Her 1977-1979 marriage to Larry Davis was annulled; from him, she learned to speak German fluently, but admits she has forgotten a lot over the years . Her second marriage was from 1982-89 to Andre J. Lyson. From 1998 to 2004, she was married to audio designer Mark Levinson. The two co-wrote the 2002 book Satisfaction: The Art of the Female Orgasm.

Cattrall has also been linked with former Canadian Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau, Houston Rockets stars Cuttino Mobley and Steve Francis, actor Daniel Benzali, French public intellectual Bernard-Henri Lévy, and her Whose Life is it Anyway? co-star Alexander Siddig. She currently resides in New York City and in East Hampton, New York.

Keri Lynn Russell (born March 23, 1976) is a Golden Globe-winning American actress and dancer. After appearing in a number of made-for-television films and series during the mid-1990s, she came to fame for portraying the title role of Felicity Porter on the series Felicity, which ran from 1998 to 2002. Russell has since appeared in several films, including We Were Soldiers, The Upside of Anger, Mission: Impossible III, Waitress, and August Rush. In January 2008, it was announced that she will voice the iconic comic book character Wonder Woman in an upcoming animated film of the same name.

Biography

Early life

Russell was born in Fountain Valley, California, the daughter of Stephanie (née Stephens), a homemaker, and David Russell, a Nissan Motors executive. She has an older brother, Todd, and a younger sister, Julie. Russell grew up in Coppell, Texas, Mesa, Arizona and Highlands Ranch, Colorado, moving frequently because of her father’s employment. Though she is known for her acting these days, she started out at Starstruck dance studio in a suburb of Denver, and it was her dancing, not her acting that earned her a spot on the Mickey Mouse Club subsequently starting her a career.

Career: 1991 - 2002

Russell first appeared on television as a cast member of the New Mickey Mouse Club variety show on the Disney Channel. She was on the show from 1991 to 1993 and co-starred with future pop stars Christina Aguilera, Britney Spears, JC Chasez, Justin Timberlake, and Ryan Gosling. In 1992, she appeared in Honey, I Blew Up the Kid alongside Rick Moranis and in 1993 had a role on the sitcom Boy Meets World as Mr. Feeny’s niece. Russell subsequently starred in several film and television roles, including the 1996 made-for-television film The Babysitter’s Seduction. She also had a role on the short-lived soap opera series Malibu Shores the same year. In 1994, she appeared in Bon Jovi’s music video “Always” with Jack Noseworthy and on Married… with Children. In 1997, she appeared in two episodes of Roar alongside Heath Ledger.

From 1998 to 2002, Russell starred as the title character on the successful WB Network series Felicity; she won a Golden Globe for the role in 1999. Russell’s long and curly hair was one of her character’s defining characteristics, and a drastic hairstyle change at the beginning of the show’s second season was considered to be the cause of a significant drop in the show’s ratings. As a result, new policies were enacted at the network requiring hairstyle changes by cast to be approved by the network’s executives. Felicity ’s ratings drop also coincided with the show’s move to a Sunday night time slot, so it is unclear exactly how much effect the hairstyle change actually had. During the show’s run, Russell appeared in the films Eight Days a Week, The Curve and Mad About Mambo, all of which received only limited releases in North America. Her next role was in the film We Were Soldiers, playing the wife of an American serviceman. The film was released in March 2002, two months before the end of Felicity’s run.

Career: 2003 - present

When Felicity ended, Russell took a break from acting. She moved to New York City and took two years off to avoid the business of Hollywood, spending time with friends.
